NELSON MANDELA

Nelson Mandela was a renowned South Africa president, Nobel Peace Prize winner and lawyer. He fought his whole life against discrimination and in favor of African people's rights.

Mandela was born in Qunu, South Africa in 1918. The first language he learned was Xhosa. His parents's names were Gadla and Nodekeni and he had three sisters. At the age of five he worked herding family's cattle. As many people ,he loved the sunset. One of his favorite kind of music was classical music like Handel and Tchaikovsky. He studied in Mission school and Union College of Fort Hare where he became a lawyer in Johannesburg. He got married three times,in 1944 with Evelyn Ntoko,in 1958 with Winnie Madikizela,and in 1998 with Graca Machel his last wife. In 1942 Mandela joined Africa National Congress that had the goal to finish the unjust system of apartheid. The Youth League Secretary was found by him in 1947.In 1952 he was the Deputy head of ANC and in 1991 he got the presidency of ANC, but ANC was outlawed in 1960.

Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life term in jail for anti-government activities,being released after 27 years on february 11,1990.

The Nobel Peace Prize was gotten by Nelson Mandela in 1993 and the next year he was elected the new president of South Africa with 62 percent of vote. By 1994 was reliazed "Long Walk to Freedom", his  Autobiography.
