W2 - Anyelee Buitrón

The most unusual weather I experienced was the terrible rain in the jungle. It happened five years ago. I usually take a trip with my family on vacation, so we decided to travel to Satipo.

It was raining when we arrived. Of course, we thought it was normal since it was a rainy season but suddenly, the rain increased and all the people became desperate because they said that the rain was not usual, that their houses were flooded and that they could not walk freely due to the flow of water. Also, the cars could not move because the streets were blocked by the water.

We were stuck in the rain, so my father took the car from the flooded area and took it to the main street because the water flow contained mud, tree debris, and stones. And since we had visibility problems, we did not decide to move forward. So we waited in the car until the rain ended.

This fact delayed our trip and made us feel afraid for what it caused. I remember that it was the first time I experienced the rain and the torrential wind and conclude that heavy rain can be incredibly dangerous.

Finally, the rain ended and, we could continue our journey. Surprisingly, the people were ok, they were able to get the water out of their houses, and there were no injuries.
