SLEEPY HOLLOW

Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a scary criminologist from New York(P) who comes to a town called Sleepy Hollow to investigate the legend of a presumed decapitated killer causing
fear among the inhabitants of the small town. Crane does not believe in the legend and tries to discover the real cause of the killings.

Director Tim Burton, with his imaginative and fascinating visual ability, his deep sensitivity in the capture of bizarre environments and its attractive symbiosis between commerciality and his taste for the b-series, was the right person to put in action Washington Irving's novel "The legend of Sleepy Hollow".

The result is satisfactory in the visual aspect since it redirects to your history weather patterns for the legendary Hammer Studios, that honors not only in its aesthetic manifestation but the presence in the cast of Christopher Lee. The Hammer includes (C)Gothic aspects, eroticism inherent to the viewing of pronounced and fleshy necks and explicit sample of blood and violence.

Burton rushes intrigue by providing it with a gradation of light comedy (mild parody of modern criminology), which finally leads to a lack of tonal definition. The successful atmosphere and exciting special effects-filled action sequences coexist with an inconsistent hyphen, with unnecessary and vacuous symbolism that do not contribute anything to the development of the story (overcoming of traumas of Depp?), absence of chemistry in the history of love and neglect in the treatment of most of the characters. Of all the characters I was surprised in particular headless man that peculiar executioner who manages to fill the screen with its mere presence, listen in a room with digital and intense sound Gallop his horse ice blood to any.

This movie is a good option if you do not want to feel too much nerve wracking.
