South Africa: Giving away a cell phone to people who kill 60 rats

Alexandra area is located in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa, and has a serious problem: the invasion of thousands of rats.
According to British newspaper The Guardian, the situation is so chaotic that some children have been attacked by rodents. Therefore, a local charity called Lifeline has devised a plan to end this scourge: deliver phones showing people killing 60 rats. Then, if given the telephone equipment, proceeds to go to the site and perform a thorough fumigation. However, the high demand for performing this "task" has brought some drawbacks. For example, a group of activities for animal rights have denounced the mass killings of rodents due to their excessive cruelty.
